Trish Colter is an accomplished vocalist, arranger, and educator. Now retired, she was head of the voice department at Humber College in Toronto for 25 years. She is also my wife. We have played together for decades, at first I just happened to be on the same gig as her. I remember one of the first times I heard her sing. She sang in a band called "Music Machine" and I was occasionally hired to play saxophone in that band. Years later we started working as a duo (piano/voice) and then later added a bass player, then a drummer and finally wound up with a sextet. That group released two CDs "The Dance Never Ends" and "At Long Last Love". Those recordings are in the Discography section of this site.
For a couple of years we had Ed Wise as our bassist. Kirk MacDonald occasionally played saxophones with us and the great Phil Nimmons played clarinet for quite a while and the band grew to a septet. Phil can be heard on "Whenever Liese Smiles" (his composition with Trish's lyrics) on the CD, The Dance Never Ends. See the discography section of this site for that one.
